About Me

Biography

Sarah Wilson is a UK-born artist whose creative journey has taken her across continents and disciplines. After moving to New Zealand in 2004, she spent two decades working in the field of education while raising a family. At 38, driven by a deep longing to reconnect with her artistic roots, Sarah returned to full-time study—this time as a student of Graphic Design.

Buoyed by the success of her diploma and encouraged by loved ones, she embraced her passion fully, stepping into the world of professional art. Gaining early recognition for her expressive ink work in Wellington exhibitions, Sarah soon expanded her practice to include acrylic painting on canvas, broadening both her medium and her message.

Now based in the picturesque southwest of France, she draws daily inspiration from the region’s luminous stained-glass windows—translating their vivid light and timeless beauty into contemporary works that explore universal human themes. Sarah’s innovative art is a celebration of transformation, authenticity, and the divine spirit that lives in us all.

Artist Statement

Art is how I move through the world—it’s where I find my rhythm, stretch the edges of possibility, and reconnect with the joy of play. Through creating, I slip beyond the surface of everyday life and into something richer, more resonant. Each piece becomes a dialogue between my conscious and subconscious—a dance of curiosity, instinct, and problem-solving.

This process helps me make sense of who I am and where I belong. It shifts my perspective, revealing the infinite potential just outside the frame of what we call reality. My work is a celebration—of beauty, of love, of the quiet magic woven into the world around us, waiting to be noticed. Enjoy!
